Verified Purchase. I love this CD. Great songs on here for fans of hers. Lisa Stansfield and her music stand the test of time. Powerful, emotive, incredible voice. Not sure I can wear out a CD but I am having a good time trying! One person found this helpful. Love this greatest hits package and her music. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at this CD for it's number of great songs and how it opened up my eyes and ears to one great female singer.
I had mainly bought it for the two bigger hits heard on radio but it's one of those CD's that as soon as you put it on and it starts playing, you cannot turn it off. For many singers, the studio does wonders with covering up little quirks each voice has. There are few female artists whose voice can simply stand out above all that is going on around them, and Lisa Stansfield has one of those voices.
This is a CD that showcases the older songs, the new technology brings out the instruments and vocal placement. If you like Lisa Stansfield, and wonder if the price for this CD is justified I can surely say yes--buy it! You won't be disappointed. I hope Lisa keeps on recording and doesn't let that voice slow down, we would surely miss her. I am a big fan of Lisa Stansfield that I had her hairstyle in my teens: Still a fan!
She is a wonderful vocalist and the tunes are good. She could do pop, blue-eyed soul, dance, a couple of ballads, and did a jazz tune. So multi-talented, and from what I hear, she's still in the game. With this collection, she gave it her best, and she knew what the listener needed to hear. She covered all the bases and made it work!
Talent like this is few and far between, so I'm glad that she gave me a reason to bop and move, cause she had the talent to perform, and we are so lucky to have her in our ears. See more reviews. Every track is excellent Lisa is one of the most underrated artist's around and should get more airplay on the more soulful radio stations. This is a really good album. There are many good songs. I can hear it again and again. One person found this helpful. CD was in great condition and just as described.
